Looks like they are preparing to do the slab.

Drove past the place and these were delivered at some point today.

Tomorrows forcast Mostly Sunny!! Hope they get the Slab done. Although I'm not all that keen on our first progress payment..

Some of our colour selections

underneath is the main floors tiles limestone Taupe (600x600)
The large dark tile shown is for the bathroom and laundry floors and sitting of top of it is the cupboard for the vanity and the benchtop..

\
The Glass Mosaic we picked for the Niche and around the bathtub for a feature..$3k work of upgrade.
WE picked 200x400 white tiles for the wall to layed horizontal.

Peering and drains completed.

Much to our surprise they have done the peering and drains. Ofcourse it rained the next day, so we are not expecting much progress with rain forcasted.

The unexpected - Site Benching Completed

Drove past the land to see what damage the rain did. Instead of same old nothing done, we were surprised that the site benching has been completed. It would seem the three days of clear weather has helped to dry up the soil.

Shot from the sewer manhole on our site

This is the  step up split section. Back park of our home is 340mm higher.

Tile selection done and still nothing with the land

Heres to hoping that it does not pour down with rain tomorrow. We got our quote for our tile selection and initially we had a $6k allowance on top of the normal allowance that we had included.. One work of advice if you intend on going porcelain 600x600 with 1.5 mm gap allow for $7k allowance on top then add the bathroom upgrade, in our case the glass mosaics, or in any case of decortive mosaics allow for $3k for the cost..

So in saying that, if you intend on not going with the standard and make your bathroom( i know some people are just happy with the standard selection) beyond standard then allow for $10k at the least..

I'll post some photos soon on our tile selection.. still have not signed of on the quote yet..

Rain forcasted all week

With rain forcasted all week, little to no progress can be expected.. Site benching can't be completed with soil being too difficult to move when soaked in water..

Mother nature is being cruel to all who are trying to get their construction started....

Birds Eye view of the land

30/06/2010

From our plans.

Well these images as dated shows where we are at and were we will be in the end. our land size is 625 Sqm and the main reason why opted to Knockdown and rebuild. At the ponds you will be lucky to get 550sqm without paying a premium.

FYI: we had  trees on our property that had to be removed. Any tree in the construction zone as submitted by your builder to council. If when the plans are approved these trees are good to be cut down and does not require application with the demolition. Any tree outside of it like the council strip tree you will have to apply. We left ours as is, we now they will say no...
